5th Grade Retreat!

Last week Tyler's class had their fifth grade retreat and parent breakfast.  It was such a sweet time.  Each parent got to encourage their child - YES! I cried!!  We prayed over the kids and sent them off for their two day retreat at Great Wolf Lodge.  The entire school, including the little kids, lined up and cheered for the fifth graders, sprayed them with silly string, and showed them encouragement!  It is a great way to end our time at The Sloan School.  I can't believe school is almost out and Tyler will be in SIXTH grade next year!

 Aunt Misty already LOVES her precious niece!

Dina's water broke around 1:30 pm on Wednesday...in typical SPAZ MISTY fashion I was talking VERY loudly at the 7-Eleven while pumping gas so that all of the people around me knew what was happening, I almost drove off with my car running while gas was still pumping into the car, and I threw away my credit card in the trashcan...the man across from me said, "Is this your family's first baby??" To which I had to reply, "Nope, it's our seventh!" (embarassing!)  I rushed over to watch Kennedy while Stan got Dina to the hospital!  After K got up, she was so happy she just kept saying, "Mommy at doctor, Mimi come later, I with Misty now!" (she knew the plan!)  We then went and got Tyler and Parker from school and headed to the hospital.  Stan's parents, Pops & Mimi, Beckey, Kennedy, Tyler, Parker, and me all hung out....finally around 9:30 pm we knew it was going to be longer than exected and Kennedy had passed the sleepy stage into the VERY excited stage...she was running around saying, "I have fun today!" over and over!  I took the boys home and Pops took Kennedy home.  By the time 12:22 am rolled around it was me, Beckey, and Mimi ready and waiting.  Dina is a rock star and pushed for about ten (maybe) minutes.  She looked beautiful and so did Brooklyn.  All we've done since is marvel at our new baby girl and how sweet God's gift of life can be!  I'm sure there will be MANY more pictures to come!  I'm headed there now again!

Mothers Day Love!

Mothers Day was a treat this year!  The boys were so sweet to me.  I love how they always want to "take care" of me.  We went to church and then to the Gaylord for brunch.  Needless to say, Mommy ate A LOT!  I got a very cool tshirt I wanted and the James Avery Mother's ring - thanks to Tim.  He had the boys make me cards and they each gave some money towards the gifts...I think Parker scraped up some coins from his floor, lol!  It was a great day!

Field Day 2011

The boys had their end of the year field day a few weeks ago.  They had so much fun - and so did I!  It was bitter sweet knowing this is their last field day at Sloan.  It is one of the days the boys always look forward to and love being a part of!  I was proud of them, they had great attitudes and both won a lot of awards!

More Easter Pics

As I said in my last post, Easter was extra special because of Parker's baptism.  We also had the whole family in town and had lunch at Beckey's.  Pops & Mimi took all five boys to see African Cats in the afternoon after we all went to see their new house!  I'm SO SO SO excited that my parents will live SO close to me within a matter of weeks.  More importantly, I can't wait to use their super awesome new bathtub at least once a week....I love a good bath!
